Hay Camp Woodcarvers

Rapid City, SD & surrounding areas

Established in 1992, our Hay Camp Woodcarvers club is a group of enthusiastic people.  The objectives of our club are friendship and helpfulness to each member and sharing knowledge of all types of carving.  Woodcarving is learning to produce decorative articles or beautiful sculptures.  It's a low-cost hobby with rewarding conclusions.  Seminars are held and taught by experienced members.  The carvers share their carving projects and knowledge at our meeting nights.  We will show you carving techniques and how to finish your project.  We have an outstanding woodcarving library with videos and books at every carving level and style.

Club activities include a summer picnic, chili cook-off and Christmas party with a carving exchange.  These activities are fun for the family and provide great friendship among our carvers.  (Please see the calendar section for details.)

Our club also participates in the Central States Fair each August where our carvings are on display and judged.  All members and non-members are welcome to enter. Exhibits and demonstrations are offered to the visiting public.

We welcome all visitors to join us at our bi-monthly meetings and carving demonstrations.  We have members in all age groups and welcome the opportunity to share our knowledge and skills to promote "great" future carvers.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our meetings.

Thank you for visiting our website!
